Obituary for Marianne Moscicki

Marianne Moscicki was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away on Thursday September 28th, 2023 after an 8 months long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and three children who love her dearly. Marianne was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 10th, 1952. She was raised by her mother and father Laura and Robert Mueller and looked up to her sister Dianne.

She met her beloved husband Richard while training to be a dental hygienist at Northwestern University and they married on August 11th, 1979. She later studied Psychology at Wellesley College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Marianne and Richard lived together in Burlington, Vermont and later moved to Boston where Richard would be a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. Sharing with them her effervescent and warm spirit, she raised three children with immense love: Alex, now a psychiatrist at McLean Hospital, Zach, who recently completed a PhD in Ocean Engineering, and Olivia, who is training to be a Family Medicine physician at Boston Medical Center. She felt blessed to have two wonderful daughters-in-law, Anna and Tatyana. In these last months, her grandson Emil brought her great joy. She treasured her many friends and loved a good party.

Marianne savored long mornings admiring the ocean on Nantucket Island and traveling to little known locations. She supported the Boston Ballet and Theatre Workshop of Nantucket and reveled in the beauty of the arts. She was a fiercely loving friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
