Obituary for Jeffrey B. Cossaboom

Devote brother and son.

Jeffrey Cossaboom passed away suddenly at his home November 25, 2022. He grew up in Newton MA attending Newton North High School. He was a talented drummer, playing gigs and recording together with his brother in their high school band. Jeffrey went on to graduate from Mass Bay Community College. He was so proud to have not only achieved his degree, but was on the dean’s list, despite having Dyslexia. Jeffrey worked at the Charles River Canoe and Kayak Newton Historical Boathouse and was one of the youngest Dock Supervisor on staff. After college, he traveled the US visiting a variety of states to quench his thirst for adventure. He was only 16 years old when he flew a plane.

Jeffrey was employed at Tulley BMW, Nashua NH as a specialized technician where he was given a BMW Achievement Award. His expertise in automotive repair launched him into his own business first with Out of Time Performance LLC and then as Co-Owner of New England Factory Speedway in NH.

Jeffrey was an avid animal lover. He was very close to his dog Sable and currently his cat named JEGS. His friend BZT’s dog Fox loved Jeffrey. If you wanted to know about movies, just ask Jeff. He was the best movie critic and, on the money, if you asked him what’s a good movie.

Jeff’s friends were held close to his heart, treating them as family right from the start. He was a trustworthy and loyal friend, supporting them in good times and bad. Family was very important to Jeffrey, often speaking fondly of his Grampy Cossaboom who he adored. Jeffrey was an amazing son, brother, nephew, and cousin. He believed in freedom and in the state of NH. His spiritual position was to be good to people and he wished good things for everyone. Hardworking, intelligent, charming, loving, cheerful, silly, and passionate best describes this young man who was taken from us too soon.

Jeff is survived by his beloved mother Kelli A. Smith, father, Charles Cossaboom and wife Diane, brother Andrew Cossaboom, aunts and uncles Amy and Brian Keegan, Kathi Roy, Kim and Al Gentile, Judy and Martin Baronas, Martha and Brian McMahon, Laura Bard, maternal grandmother Judith Smith, and many, many dear friends, cousins, and his beloved Cat JEGS.
