Obituary for Margaret Frances Mazzola (Maguire)

Margaret (Maguire) Mazzola of Newton passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021 with her family at her bedside, after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Mazzola. Born and raised in Newton, the daughter of the late Frederick F. and Margaret T. (Lavelle) Maguire. She leaves behind her siblings Mary (Maguire) DeMaio of Newton, wife of the late Joseph B. DeMaio, Patricia (Maguire) Carrafiello and her husband Michael Carrafiello of Waltham, John Maguire and his wife Maryellen (Norton) Maguire of Framingham, her brother-in-law Gerard Mazzola and his wife Nancy of Framingham and her sisters-in-law Janet (Halliday) Maguire of Tewksbury and Joan (Mazzola) Jauss of Bedford, preceded in death by her brother Frederick F. Maguire Sr. and sister-n-law Ann Stenson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all who will miss her dearly.

Margaret was employed at Barnes and Jones Manufacturing Co. in Newton for many years. She was a faithful practicing Catholic at Corpus Christi/St. Bernard's Church. She enjoyed many years of retirement, always doing things for others. Margaret had a flair for fashion and a passion for shopping. She had a knack for finding that one special thing that someone was looking for and for picking the perfect unexpected gift for her many friends and family members. Her greatest joy came from spoiling her many nieces and nephews. Margaret enjoyed baking and bringing favorite homemade treats, candies, and cookies to so many. In addition, Margaret never forgot to honor a birthday, anniversary or special occasion with a card handpicked specifically for the individual. Margaret was a loyal friend, sister and aunt, she will be greatly missed for her kind, thoughtful and loving nature.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newton, Ma. followed by interment in Newton Cemetery.
