Obituary for Nancy Hindlian

Nancy Stone Hindlian, age 73, of Wayland, and formerly a long time resident of Weston, Massachusetts, passed away on March 5, 2021. Nancy was the treasured wife of Richard Hindlian and the devoted mother of Jessica Hindlian, Sarah Hindlian-Bowler and Amanda Hindlian. She leaves behind her two precious grandsons, Raymond Alexander Barzana V and James Fitzgerald Barzana. Nancy also leaves behind her cherished brothers, George Stone and Joseph Stone, her three sons-in-law, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.

Nancy was a reading and reading recovery teacher for children in first and second grade. She worked tirelessly to better the lives of children and thought little else was more important than a good book. For many children, Nancy was like a second mother who always greeted them with open arms, sharing her compassion, affection and love without restraint. She was known for her warmth, sense of humor, laughter and extraordinary cooking.

To her own children, Nancy was a heroine, the woman who raised them with tremendous devotion and pride to become strong, independent and intelligent women. Her husband, who cared for her over many years of illness, was her rock and the love of her life.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visiting hours at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley, Massachusetts on Friday, March 12, from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Buddy Dog Humane Society.
