Angelo and I spent most of the first 20 years of our lives together, as best pals on Crescent St. in Auburndale. From playing hop-scotch to hide-and-seek to neighborhood sports of all kinds, all the way to double-dating and marriage. We stayed in touch afterwards, as well, and when he and Diane asked me to write a referral letter to help in the adoption of their great son, Angelo III, I was thrilled to tell their wonderful story, and as expected, Angelo and Diane turned out to be outstanding parents. Angelo was so so proud of his son---it was great to hear him talk about his son.
As kids,we had so much fun together---plenty of mischief and laughs, but we also cried together with the loss of each of his parents, when he was very young. It was such a pleasure to be Angelo's friend. He was great at staying in touch, and, over the years, would often call me "out-of-the-blue" just to check in and say hello and ask for the people in my family. I know that, in time, our great memories of him will long outlive the pain of loss that we have today. God Bless Diane and Angelo III.
