Diane was the highlight of my morning. Even when we arrived at the crosswalk before her scheduled time Diane would get out of her car and cross us. She had a big smile and hello for my daughter Caroline. Every morning as we would get close to the crosswalk Caroline would say "lets look for Diane." Diane made sure our kids were safe and this was her utmost priority. She knew how things were going in our lives and then remembered stories and asked me about them later. I already miss her very much.

Seeing Diane every morning and afternoon as I crossed to Angier was a bright part of my day. She knew my kids and commented as they grew, and she always had a cheerful smile and a warm greeting. She was such an important part of our community and I feel her loss every time I pass her spot on Beacon Street. My kids and I will miss her.

Diane touched the lives of many people, adults, kids and animals alike. People from the area and from far away. I was a nanny to a lovely girl in the area and Diane helped us cross every day. Thanking her for her exceptional cross walk service, she always replied with a heart warming, “You’re welcome.” I will always remember her for her kindness, good conversation and making sure every being was able to cross the street safely in rain, shine or snow. Sending love from a nanny from another town. She has touched my heart and I’m deeply saddened to no longer hear her voice saying, “Ok, now go ahead.” Thanks for everything Diane. You were a big part of my day.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Diane will be missed. I walked by her everyday on my way to the T and she always had a warn greeting for me. Last year on a cold winter morning she saw me walking without a hat. I told her that I had left it on the T the following week. She said that she had an extra hat and would give it to me if I wanted. She was very kind.
