Obituary for Mary E. "Mae" Capobianco (Finnigan)

Mary E. “Mae” Capobianco, of Wellesley passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the age of 85. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Raymond J. Capobianco and loving children Nancy E. Pendleton of Ashland, Ann M. Thurber and her husband Jeff of Ashland, Brenda M. Capobianco and her husband Jim Lehman of W. Lafayette, IN, Patricia A. Capobianco of Clinton, Paula Capobianco and her husband Dennis Roethlisberger of Charlottesville, VA, and Thomas J. Capobianco and his wife Tia of Holliston. Grandmother to 5 treasured grandchildren, Ashley Pendleton, Brendan and Courtney Thurber, and Adeline and Grace Capobianco. Dear sister of Margaret Kelley and her husband James of Hyde Park, sister-in-law of Florence Capobianco of Wellesley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mae was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Keely) Finnigan and was raised in Hyde Park. A long-time resident of Wellesley, she was a daily communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Evangelist Parish. Mae was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and was anchored by her Catholic faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 11 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Parish, 9 Glen Rd. Wellesley Hills, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Capobianco’s memory may be made to Saint Benedict Abbey, 252 Still River Rd.
