Louise Ann Thomas, of Natick, formerly of Stow, January 6, 2018. Louise was born and raised in Newton, MA, and was a 1961 graduate of St. Bernard's High School in West Newton. After attending Katharine Gibbs School, she took job at Itek Optical Systems and worked on the team that developed the Itek Cameras and optics for the Apollo Space Missions.
At the age of 14, Louise met her first and only true love, Paul Thomas, and the pair were married in 1966. For more the 50 years the couple enjoyed spending time at their favorite seaside resort, Brown’s Wharf in Booth Bay, Maine, and deep sea fishing on the Yankee Clipper out of Gloucester, MA.
She and Paul settled in Stow, MA and soon after adopted 2 beautiful boys, Peter and Oakley. Louise was very active in the community, coaching Little League with Paul, teaching CCD and working in the Town Clerk’s office.
In 1991, she and her family moved to Natick, and Louise took a job working in the Wellesley Town Clerk’s office. She retired in 2007. Louise loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed playing online word games, keeping Amazon in business by shopping online, and listening to country music legends Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash while relaxing with a perfectly made “Tangueray tingle.” Louise was an avid reader and loved kitties, especially her beloved Molly.
Louise was the beloved wife of Paul and a wonderful mother to Peter Thomas of Fall River and Oakley Thomas and family of Nahant. Dear sister to Nancy Vanaria of Natick and Walter Geary and his wife Patricia of Waltham. Loving aunt to Debbie Hayes and her fiancé Julio Fontecchio of Millis and Diane Byrne and her husband Walter of Auburn as well as her grandnieces Katie Hausken and her husband Krist, Mary Byrne, Holly Hayes and Laura Byrne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd. Wellesley Hills followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley Hills. In lieu of flowers, donation in Mrs. Thomas’ memory may be made to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research at www.MLERF.org, or to the Michael F. Fox Foundation at www.MichaelJFox.org
