Obituary for Irene G. Kiley (Keane)

KILEY, Irene G. 88, a longtime resident of Newton and East Sandwich, MA, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Andrew & Delia (Tarpey) Keane who emigrated to the U.S. from Ireland. Irene was graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She married Manley J. Kiley (deceased), a Newton Police Detective, in 1950. Irene is survived by her son, Manley J. Kiley, Jr. and his wife Mary of Chestnut Hill, her son, Kevin Kiley of Shanghai, China, her son, Thomas Kiley and his wife Kathleen of Holliston, her daughter, Susan Eckert and her husband Roy of Rockville, MD and her daughter Anne Kiley-Dion and her husband Daniel of Canton, her fourteen grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher and Annabel Kiley, Catherine and Lisa Kiley, Jeffrey (Johanna), Kristen, Gregory and Brian Kiley, Kevin (Lauren), Matthew and Timothy Eckert, and Jack and Molly Dion, and her great granddaughter, Evelyn Constance Kiley. She is also survived by her sister Mary O’Brien of Malden and was predeceased by her brother, Robert and sister, Carolyn (Hart). Family and friends will remember Irene’s life by gathering in the Burke and Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte. 16), West Newton on Friday, August 25 at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton, MA at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours Thursday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Internment will be in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
